“So you perform…what else?”
I’m a lighting electrician!
As part of my training at James Madison University, I took a class where I learned the ins and outs of theatrical lighting. I then turned my new skills into a job as an electrician for the Forbes Center of the Performing Arts where I get to hang and program lights for the shows. I now get to work as the head electrician on productions at JMU and have cultivated a love and appreciation for technical theatre!
I teach!
When Covid struck, I needed a job to get out of the house. I started working as a drama and music teacher back home in Richmond for a local Child Development Center and quickly fell in love with the joy and confidence the performing arts can inspire in children! I have worked there for almost 5 years as a lead teacher, creating and executing drama/music lesson plans for kids ages 5 to 12.
